We had a big election this week in America. A lot of people were thrilled with the results. And a lot of other people were upset.
I’m not here to get political, just to remind you that no matter which side you fall on…
YOU will do more for the quality of your own life than any politician ever will.

- Eating well.
- Sleeping well.
- Lifting weights.
- Going for walks.
- Getting sunlight.
- Doing something you enjoy.
- Avoiding toxic and negative people.
Yes, policy and politics matter.
But what matters more are the votes you cast for yourself every day through your actions and habits.
Trust me on this one.
The Best Way To It, Is Through It
10+ years of coaching 500+ people has taught me one thing…
Folks tend to fall into 1 of 2 categories this time of year.
The first says, “I’ll start after the holidays…”
And of these people, over 90% who do start end up quitting by February.
Not ideal.
The second type says, “Ya know what? I’m ready to make this happen. Better to start now and change my habits while still enjoying the holidays.”
And these people are universally more successful long-term.
Why?
Because, if you’re telling yourself you have to wait until it’s easy to start…
You’re also telling yourself it’s okay to stop when things get hard.
You know the phrase ‘Forged in the fire”?
Well, that applies more to fitness than anywhere else.
The harshest environment breeds the strongest outcome.
My most successful clients know that they struggle when life gets busy.
So instead of walking away from that fire, they walk into it.
Because there is no better teacher than experience.
So if there’s a part of your brain starting to talk to you about throwing in the towel until the New Year because ‘it’s going to be too hard…’
Shut it up right now. And instead use the next two months as an opportunity to put an end to the holiday weight gain once and for all.
